[deleted post]Why would you want to go straight to the doctor for a cardiac checkup because you couldn’t help yourself from spying on your wife’s cell phone? It is an adventure that is not worth participating in. Tranquility is a luxury.

Or just bring back the SD CARD slot to your flagship phones so crucial data can be saved there and if the SD card is disconnected by the phone bricks.

yes

This is only useful assuming you can go into settings and enable it. Which, in case the phone won’t turn on or has destroyed the screen, it can’t. But I guess at least having a choice is good.

For the people who say service centers do factory resets so this isn’t helpful: This is not just to preserve your data while it’s being serviced, but to protect your data while it’s being serviced. So even if your service person doesn’t reset, you can’t access the data.
And not all service people do it and not all service requests need it. For example, do you want to replace the rear glass? Why do you or the service person reset the device?
This is also useful for people with less technological knowledge. For example, I can easily ask my aunt remotely to enable this before giving basic service instead of asking her to backup or reboot.

I’m not afraid of my local repairman, although I don’t leave the phone to be repaired alone.

I am more afraid that the United States is spying on us through Google, Facebook, etc.
and they have the balls to talk about porcelain espionage.

Olympus Oms, 10 hours agoMost service centers factory reset phones. So yes. Exactly. What if your phone failure prevents you from activating this feature? This way doesn’t make sense…
