galaxy s22 it does not come with a completely new design. Instead, Samsung has stepped back and refined the design of the flagship Galaxy S series. The camera module still flows over the left edge of the devices and seamlessly integrates with the frame. Although the color of the camera module now matches the background color of the smartphone.
The two non-Ultra smartphones now have a bit of a ‘boxy’ design. It doesn’t have as smooth a corner radius as the S21 Plus. The back of both smartphones (yes, S22 too) is now made of glass that has been given a misty finish. But, yes, in general there is not much change in the design.
The Galaxy S22 is pretty compact now, with a smaller overall footprint and smaller bezels. It features a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while the Plus variant has a 6.6-inch display. Both have a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. They support adaptive refresh rates that can go from 10Hz to 120Hz. The maximum brightness of the S22 Plus can go up to 1750 nits, while it can only go up to 1300 nits.
Both the S22 and the S22 plus it sports a triple rear camera setup. This configuration contains a 50MP main wide-angle camera, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. If first impressions are to be believed, Samsung has improved the camera quality a lot this year. Up front, they both feature a 10MP selfie shooter.
Under the hood, they both have the same 4nm chipset. The only big difference between the S22 and S22 Plus this year is in the size of the screen and the battery. The $799 S22 comes with just a 3,700mAh battery, while the larger S22 Plus comes with 4,500mAh. We haven’t reviewed the devices yet, so we can’t really comment on the battery life of the two devices.
Galaxy S22 Ultra

We now move on to the S22 Ultra. The Ultra variant is quite interesting this year. It features a square design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note and even comes with a built-in S Pen. On the front of the Galaxy S22 Ultra is a large 6.8-inch QHD+ AMOLED panel that has an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. Although the smartphone now comes with a camera island unlike the S21 Ultra, changes are minimal under the hood.
It features a familiar 108 MP wide camera, highlighting the quad-camera array on the back. And the other lenses that complete the configuration are a 12 MP ultra wide angle camera, a 10 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and another 10 MP telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom. The front camera also remains as a 40MP front shooter.
Now that you know what the new Galaxy devices have to offer, let’s help you decide which S22 smartphone you should get: Regular, Plus, or Ultra?
