Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 12 series today at an event that includes the Vanilla 12, 12 Pro, 12 Pro+, and 12 Explorer Edition. We’ll cover the first three phones here, while the Explorer Edition and its 210W charging will be covered in a separate post.

The Note 12 features a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The main camera comes with 48MP and on top of that you only get a 2MP depth module. The selfie shooter is capped at 8MP. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset is in command with the help of up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
It is housed in a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and 12 Pro
The Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ models share the same spec sheets except for the cameras.
The devices feature 6.67-inch OLED displays with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rates. Both phones are powered by the Dimensity 1080 chipset and up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which cannot be expanded.
The Pro+ has an advantage in the camera department: it’s the first Redmi phone with a 200MP camera that uses Samsung’s ISCOELL HPX sensor. This is a 1/1.4-inch sensor with 16 to 1 pixel binning and QPD autofocus. You can take 12.5MP resolution photos in default mode with 2.24μm pitch, 50MP shots with 1.12μm pixels, and even full 200MP images with 0.56μm pixels.
These include a 5000 mAh battery. The Note 12 Pro has 67W fast charging that can charge up to 50% in 15 minutes and up to 100% in 46 minutes. The Note 12 Pro+ has a 120W fast-charging Surging P1 chip that can charge up to 100% in 19 minutes with the included 120W GaN charger. Both phones use MIUI 13 based on Android 12 and retain the headphone jack.

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ comes in white, black, blue, and a Yibo special edition with dual-tone green and black backing. Pricing starts at CNY 2,199 ($304) for the 8/256GB model. The 12/256 GB version will retail for CNY 2,399 ($332). Open sales in China start on November 1.

There are 8/128GB (CNY 1,799) and 8/256GB (CNY 1,999) models, as well as a premium 12/256GB model for CNY 2,199 ($304). Open sales in China start on November 1.
