IpsDisplay, 4 hours agoOne more thing When we had LEAPS in photography, we didn’t appreciate it enough… plusreal. I can confirm that entering 102400 ISO in 2022 is a joke, my huawei mate 20 pro from 2018 already offered it in professional mode as a manual setting for 10mp grouped photos. the photos look so bright that you think the photo was taken during the day. you can literally see everything!
IpsDisplay, 4 hours agoEvery year the same story AMD will make the exynos the best chipset ever Samsung new 4nm… plusActually, all of the class-leading AMOLED screens are made by Samsung.
You are probably right about the processor though.
Anonymous, 1 hour agoIf you buy a cell phone for the camera, you are doing it wrong. At least buy a Sony cell phone… plusYou don’t need a Sony phone to connect to your ermm… who still uses DSLRs today? Sony’s app is available to everyone on the app store.
IpsDisplay, 4 hours agoEvery year the same story AMD will make the exynos the best chipset ever Samsung new 4nm… plusAgree on all but AMOLED. They increase the brightness annually and work as expected. Sometimes a little brighter, sometimes a few nits lower than advertised, but nothing too jarring either way. Don’t really overestimate the brightness numbers. However, it is still the same resolution.
it won’t even compete with a 4 year old p40 pro in low light as even 4 years later they can’t bring a bigger sensor and just fake mp. There is not enough space for a bigger sensor, I have to opt for those many small low quality sensors instead of less but high quality.
Anonymous, 1 hour agoIf you buy a cell phone for the camera, you are doing it wrong. At least buy a Sony cell phone… plusLOL, what do Sony phones have to do with DSLRs (or mirrorless cameras) that aren’t the same brand as some cameras? Yes, the I-Pro model has some HDMI stuff, but it’s mostly useless for photographers, just to use as a screen when shooting video.
Sony phones have totally average cameras, nothing special and yes I use Xperia 5 II and its disappointing.
Everybody knows how to use periscope zoom on a camera, it’s not rocket science. Social media people know more about cameras than nerds. Do not underestimate.
The camera must have super stable video mode like we have in gopro 11 and osmo 3 action camera, in this mode s23 ultra must record 8k 60fps and 4k at 120fps, that will be something we all want. If Samsung can do that we’ll all say ‘biggest leap in smartphone camera’ or else it’s just a phone nothing more so better go with gopro 11 for video recording it can do 4k at 120 fps, what does everyone need!

Exynos’ ISP gives poor low-light results even with the best sensor.

Where is Galaxy s11 to Galaxy s19? 🙂
It will also be excellent. Hi, I’m not sure if they will offer hires + bonuses. Also, what about the rest of the lens? 200mp + 10mp…? I wish it was more consistent.
200MP .. or 20000 MP make mo diff for night photography. Sure, maybe a more sensitive sensor in the camera module… but the MP makes no difference.
What you need is supportive sensors that work at night… like ToF or Apple’s LIDAR sensor. So you know how long to expose the camera sensor to get enough light to take better photos in night mode.
So this is just a software trick to fix the image… Unless Samsung says they will release new TOF or LIDAR sensors, then… I believe it.
90% of the average Joe (on earth) who bought a premium priced Periscope lens phone doesn’t bother and even knows how to use it
People just bought because the phone has a premium look…
Huawei Mate 20 Pro still takes better night photos than the competition.
What’s good about the rest? Maybe zoom? But that is already surpassed by Huawei P50 Pro and Mate 50 Pro.
After Huawei’s ban, we can see that the competition only uses numbers for marketing purposes, with little or no innovation.
One more thing
When we had LEAPS in photography, we didn’t appreciate it enough or took it for granted.
Back when Huawei introduced the modern version of night photography when literally Samsung and even Apple had no answer for ANYTHING
Now we don’t have proper competition and lazy bums like Samsung and Apple with snail’s pace innovation and little suace advertising.
Look Alive only that now it only does 100k ISO and we hardly have advances in “zoom”
And just now we are getting different color pixel arrays in RGBW after Huawei’s RY combo
Rest in peace mobile camera technology emotion
