The Edge Full Kit allows you to mount your phone to your laptop, computer, or tablet, and could potentially help you better multitask between your hardware and your iPhone.

The kit ships with three accessories inside: a stand, a light, and a universal wireless charger. All of these components work together to give you the best home kit experience it has to offer.

While barely noticeable, the mounting mechanism that is the foundation of the kit’s entire operating system integrates well with any home office space you may have on your device. It appears when you need it and then disappears when you don’t.

For people looking for a portable way to mount their phone to their computer and still be able to use additional accessories with it, this may be the product for them.

Full Edge Kit – Phone Holder

The phone mount is the center of the entire kit, allowing you to attach your phone, light, and wireless charger to your computer. The size of it is only four credit cards thick.

You can attach your phone to the mount with a magnetic disk that sticks to the back of your iPhone. This means that it is compatible with both iPhone and Android devices.

However, even though it uses magnets, it doesn’t stick magnetically if you have a MagSafe-compatible device.

The mount is attached to your computer by removing the red nano-suction layer tape on the back, snapping it into position, and pressing and holding the mount for about ten seconds.

The CNC aluminum body rotates nearly 45 degrees, exposing the N52 magnetic end ready to accept your device. This is where the magnetic disk that you attach to the back of your iPhone connects, producing a secure location.

The two magnets stick together well, even when using a iPhone 14 ProMax – and hold the iPhone in place. The two magnetic circles may not line up perfectly when you first place them, so you may need to adjust the arrangement a bit.

The force between the two magnets can withstand touching your iPhone screen to open apps, type on the keyboard, or use swipe gestures. The iPhone also stays in place when you close the laptop lid while it’s still connected.

While the kickstand is positioned right next to the screen, it doesn’t point the phone directly at you. The phone seems to point slightly to the side where you placed the mount.

For example, it was placed on the right side of the screen, so that the mount pointed to the right of the phone.

Use your phone to face time or video conference calls mean you have to move in the direction your phone is pointing.

Disconnecting and detaching the phone from the mount is easy to do as you simply remove it. Due to the strength of the magnets, the device the mount is attached to may take a slight tug, but nothing too serious.

When you are done using the mount, push it back into its stationary position and it will remain sealed to your device.

To remove the mount, or magnetic disk, from your computer or phone, you can use the white tool that came with it to pry them apart. It’s simple and doesn’t require a lot of arm work to do.

Edge Full Kit – Light Fixture

The included light accessory allows you to illuminate your face, or your surroundings, when you are in a dark environment.

The accessory attaches magnetically, just like attaching your phone, to the mount. There is a magnet included inside a notch on the back of the light, so there is no need to apply another magnetic disc.

The light is powered by a USB-C cable included in the box. Plug one end into a light and the other end into a USB-C enabled power brick.

The light has three brightness levels, with a section at the bottom that glows red or white to indicate power is on. To turn on, change the brightness and turn off the light, you can press the button opposite the power port.

The light fixture can produce up to 280 lumens, which is enough to illuminate a workspace in the dark.

The light does a good job of illuminating the area it’s pointing at. While the first brightness setting may be too dim for many, the second and third brightness settings may be just the right amount of light needed for most people in dark environments.

Edge Full Kit – Universal Wireless Charger

The charging port is not covered when using the stand as standard, allowing you to plug in your phone to charge when needed. With the included universal wireless charger, you can also charge your device wirelessly, without the need to plug in a cable.

The included charging disc is very similar to the MagSafe Charger offered by Apple that is compatible with devices integrated with MagSafe. This means that if you have a iPhone 12 or later, you can use this device as you would any other MagSafe product.

For anyone who doesn’t have a MagSafe device, a magnetic ring is included that you can place inside your phone’s case so it can magnetically connect to the charger. This works for both iPhone and Android devices, and the only requirement is that your device is capable of wireless charging.

Like the light fixture, the universal wireless charger attaches to the mount via built-in magnets in the notch on the back. You can mount your wireless charger and then your phone on top of it so your phone charges while it’s mounted.

The charger connects to a USB-C compatible wall charger (sold separately) and even displays the charging animation that Apple’s MagSafe products display when connected to your iPhone.

During testing, the charger seemed to work well and maintained a firm magnetic grip between the mount and the phone attached to either side. Loading speeds were also efficient.

The only downside was that the magnetic puck attached to the back of the phone to mount it to the non-charging magnetic mount interfered with the magnetic MagSafe connection, causing the iPhone to feel loose while charging.

You must remove the magnetic disk to get a full force attraction between the phone and the charger while it is mounted. This is not ideal, as switching between an added magnet and removing one can be tedious if the changes are frequent enough.

The universal wireless charger is capable of outputting up to 18 watts and has a battery capacity of 140 mAh / 0.5 Whr.

When not mounted, you can use the Universal Wireless Charger as a regular MagSafe or wireless charging pad.

Good concept, small problems in execution.

Edge Full Kit is a great and portable way to mount your device to your computer. Installation is easy to follow and the mount stays secure when you place your phone on it.

The magnetic force between all the accessories is strong and durable, while the accessories that come with the mount are handy and of great use when needed. Especially with all USB-C compatible accessories, it works with all new and recent MacBooks and MacBooks. iPad.

It’s also very useful that the mount can appear when you need it most and then disappear when you don’t need it anymore. Pulling and pushing to and from the sight is easy and smooth, to say the least.

When you don’t want to use the stand anymore, it’s easy to push the accessory out and hide it until you need it again. Adds almost no congestion to your work environment.

While Edge Full Kit offers solid service and serves its intended purpose, some areas need improvement to take the experience to the next level.

Positioning your phone while it’s mounted and removing the magnetic disk on the back of your phone when you want to use MagSafe for wireless charging support can be a hassle.

Although these may seem like minor issues, they interrupt the continued use that the kit offers.

At nearly $70, it’s hard to say the kit is worth that kind of money. If the whole kit cost between $50 and $60, it can be, but $70 might seem too expensive to mount the phone to the laptop.

However, the MagSafe charging and light accessory is a nice addition.

The complete EDGE kit brings a lot to the table with the functionality, robustness and usefulness offered by the accessories. But, with the higher price tag and pesky little hurdles, it’s not easy to justify the price.
