Yalim, 1 hour agoconnectivity and software are crippled, so Huawei puts all resources in an unregulated area,… plusNot having Spygle is a blessing, not a limitation. The lack of 5G wouldn’t bother me as I don’t live in a major city. But yes, it seems that I am tied to my p40 pro for a long time, as I simply refuse to buy any other chipset after the experience with Kirin.

connectivity and software are crippled, so Huawei puts all resources into an unregulated area, the camera. but, it is not enough to make up for it. it’s a smartphone, not just a camera. they can’t charge full price for a smartphone with all the limitations.

meha, 2 hours agoIt’s funny that people blame us. The US Government Did Not Stop Huawei From Making Chi… plusTSMC,Samsung, etc U.S.-aligned also can’t make Huawei-designed chips, so there’s that too.

Anyway, they were already able to make 7nm, which I expected would take them decades, but it was actually fast in less than 10 years using older DUV technology. But guess what the US DUV ban got them now?

It’s pretty obvious that the US doesn’t want competition to play a level playing field in the US’s “supposedly” open market, but is dictating from whom to whom.

It’s funny that people blame us. The US government did not stop Huawei from making a chip. Huawei can make any chip it wants but without using our technology. If Huawei can come up with its own technology, go for it. It is freedom. The question is CAN THEY?

I can’t cook at home and I complain that the neighbors don’t give out salt and pepper.

YUKI93, 4 hours agoI want to see a direct follow up to the Kirin 9000E/9000 SoC. Even with the K of my Mate 20… plusOkay, Kirin 980 is a beast, it’s comparable to SD 865/870. It is a pity that Huawei was expelled for his arrogance. If they still support open source development, they might still have a chance.

I want to see a direct follow up to the Kirin 9000E/9000 SoC. Even with the Kirin 980 SoC in my Mate 20 running EMUI 12, I’m really impressed with its overall performance, especially when using EMUI desktop mode.

Anonymous, 10 hours agoSo American companies work at the behest of the government, but you’re implying that’s not the case p… plusIf anything, I find it amusing how the US is reading China’s playbook on this political wars playing field. (With the government forcing companies to cut ties with Huawei) However, if the US can pull off this kind of foul play, then China can do the same, with far more painful consequences for everyone.

All thanks to the sanctions we have to deal with expensive phones with mediocre chips

you have to suffer, 13 hours agothis could be a sign that the company is going down. in the near future, there would be no huawe… plusMaybe not on mobile, but anywhere I think they will do very well 😉 (See the automotive news regarding Huawei)

Fighting fish, 12 hours agoThis is US hegemony for you. The United States government will continue to destroy any country or company… plusAs an American, I want to move to the Netherlands.
iPhones are getting wild and very monopolistic.

Vikass17, 9 hours agoThey also make electric vehicles.I know they did other things, but I’m still worried about their mobile division.

Feeling a little bias here
